EYE CATCHING VISUALS AND CLEARLY PRESENTED CONTENT
Skye Island Tours owner Angus Graham contacted Hugh Campbell Marketing in September 2016 regarding some print material to help promote his local taxi and tour business. After a meeting with Angus we established that he required professional photography, a 1 metre advertising sign to be displayed in Portree Tourist Office and a 1/3 A4 double sided flyer.
The Photoshoot took approximately 2 hours and we used several locations on the north peninsula of the Isle of Skye. Once we had the photographs we began work on the design of the sign.
A good sign clearly and impact-fully conveys what the client is selling and is attention grabbing. We see many examples around Scotland of poor sign design where designers have crammed in unnecessary information and graphic elements which compromises both legibility and impact.
At Hugh Campbell Marketing we believe in clear and striking design and the method we apply to our designs is minimalist. We do not believe that applying fancy graphics just for the sake of it is a good methodology either for us as designers or our clients wishing to attract more potential business.
It was decided to use on the Skye Island Tours sign a large striking image and have bullet point text over laying the image. This provided a very striking sign which could be clearly seen from the entrance of the tourist office.
Our next task was to design the 1/3 A4 Flyer. Again the front of the flyer we utilized large bullet points as these is the initial "point of sale" where it is key clients attention be caught. The reverse of the flyer contains more specific information regarding the Skye Island tours and their respective pricing.
Angus was delighted with the finished product and is looking forward to a busy season in 2017!
